What makes Angel In My Pocket so special is the wonderful simple story behind the wings, coupled with the fact that each one is given by YOU to someone who is in your eyes a deserving person.

 

The story behind them is this:  My name is David Pollard. I have been a human figurative sculptor for over 30 years. While I have produced many sculptures of people over the years, much of my work has been in collaborating and/or assisting other sculptors with their projects. One day in early 2026, one of my favorite people as well as a sculptor client, came to me with a pair of ceramic angel wings that had broken off of an antique ceramic angel figurine that has been in her family for many decades. One of her cats decided that the angel needed to fly and the cat knocked the angel figurine off of the shelf, to the floor where the wings both broke off of the figurine. In that way, the beloved cat was an unwitting messenger of God as well as the catalyst to this whole adventure. My friend said she didn't know why, but that she was compelled to ask me if I could make molds of the angel wings and cast a pair for her.  I suggested that we cast them in pewter with a light antique finish. I don't know why, but I was compelled to ask her permission to cast a few pewter wings for myself. It was at that point that divine intervention hit me...keep a pair in my pocket, and when I encountered someone who either needed an angel's presence in their life or they were themselves an angel to someone in their life, I would offer them a pair of wings, one to keep and one to pass along to someone else in need. Thus began this incredible journey. I get goose bumps just writing to you that every person that I have given wings to lights up with joy and many have cried upon receiving the wings.  I knew immediately that I needed to find a way to spread this love as far as possible.  Now I am doing that through Angel In My Pocket.
